Happy 3rd Birthday Aurora

Filed under: Birthday, Kids, Personalities, Something Great, Tradition, Traditions, aurora — Devanie @ 4:32 pm

Happy Birthday AURORA! In waltz the terrible 3s. I must say Aurora, you are a ball of firey energy that cannot be consumed. It can be snuggled, and squeezed but for a moment, and then you are off, peddaling your big wheel in a dress as fast as a horse! You love Horses, doga, cats, stuffed animals, riding your trike, running around inside and out, Baby Einstein videos, squeaky shoes, and dressing like a princess. Being 3 is your BEST and most EXCITING birthday so far!

This year, you went from saying a few words to saying every word, everyone we run into says you speak like a 6 year old.  You do!  you talk and talk and talk, and know what you are talking about and it’s quite clear.  Today you madde a cute name for Pretzels, you said you were eating Zach’s”chrunchelzs”.

This year you rode your first pony, at the Lincoln, NB Zoo, you started playing board games with the family, you went thru a corn maze for the first time, you went to the Barnum & Bailey circus for the first time!, you went to a dairy farm for the first time.  This year You have been to Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, & Utah.  You have also been to Colorado, Texas, Arizona, & New Mexico.

We will be going to Chuck E cheese for your birthday party  and I’m sure you will ride the horse there for a very long time and then play a few other little games.  You love to have your picture taken so if there are any of those I think you will gravitate to them.

We love you so much, you keep us up and running and busy and always give us something to do!

You love taking a bath and ask to take 1-3 a day!  So this year for your gift you will be getting a new swimsuit for your little pool outside and playing in the tub, You are going to love it! and your new watering can so you can help us in our new garden!

XOXO

Busy Busy Bee

I have been working 5 businesses at 4 locations as well as taking care of all 4 kids needs in school out of school and running places to play with them.

I have been having loads of fun.

This week I am Pulling ALL my inventory out of 1 boutique that isn’t making me any money I keep losing $100+ a month to them so I’m moving on.  The amount of inventory is almost like moving out of a small apartment with a mini van full of kids so It will take a few loads.

Sierra Just had an Irish Dance Feis (fesh) Saturday that I took her to it was a long day for us.  She was cute and slightly messed up each dance causing her to not place in any event, But she will practice and do better next time.

We hosted a Superbowl party at our house  I made all the snacks and did the grocery shopping Saturday night til 11PM

I have 2 home shows this week with Cookie lee jewelry

Saturday IS MY BIG day.  I Started finding locations to hold “Saturday Boutiques” at where I invite lots of vendors (like a farmers market) to come and sell their wares.  It’s been a long fun task getting a big unique group together without getting duplicate vendors in.  http://saturdayboutiques.blogspot.com  it will be the day before Valentines and we have advertised like mad in the media online and thru emails and paper fliers.

I have to run. I need to get a piece of jewelry to a customer then to POSH to pull out of the store with Zach and Aurora

Utterly Exhausted- even after a nap day and no business but Superbowl party hostess. Sure wish Aurora would go back to sleeping thru the night. NO MORE CHOCOLATE MILK for you baby(almost3) before bed. Mommy needs SOME sleep-So does Daddy. 1st big noticeable BAG appeared under my eye yesterday. I looked OLD!

St. Patty’s Day

Filed under: House, Irish Dance, Kids, Something Great, Tips, Tradition, Traditions — Tags: , — Devanie @ 11:50 am

As usual little leprechaun came by and turned out milk GREEN!!  But he also pulled all the green things in the fridge to the front so that’s the prominant color when the fridge is opened.

He also took Sierra’s Leprechaun she made isn school, off the fridge and moved him by the steps, and later onto the garage door.  it’s 1/2 way thru the day, I canonly imagine how many more times he will move the paper doll leprechaun.  Besiges that I have a Treasure hunt in mind.  I got the items, not I just need to put it together.  At the end they will get dessert – A BIG sugar Cookie with Green Shamrocks on it.  We will also be having a very Green Dinner , Cucumber, Green Grapes, Green Beans and Traditional Corned Beef and potatoes.

Sierra went to school with her curly Irish Dance Wig on and her headband.  Hailey didn’t want to be called a poodle so she chose to just wear the headband.

I got to see the video of the Parade.  I’ll find a way ASAP to post it on YouTube so you call can see.

Happy Saint Pattie’s Day to all my Lads and Lassies.  Enjoy a Wee Bit O’Me Irish Side today =)

Age 7 Accomplished Artist

Filed under: Kids, Personalities, Pictures, Sierra, Something Great — Devanie @ 10:55 pm

About a month ago I finally caved and let the girls have the watercolor paints again.

Mess after mess, I’d go to their room and see  one mess after another, clean it up and let them resume their mess making.

Until one day I walked in and STOPPED dead in my tracks!

I saw a picture that was so amazing to me I just stood there and complimented Sierra UP and down for her work.

She had to keep unrolling the roll of paper to make her picture contine and it seemed to be done seemlessly and it’s as tall as she is!!

Today Daddy had it printed on Canvas – made to look like a real painting and framed by; Foto N Frame Depot http://www.foto-n-frame.com

in conjunction with The Gallerie in Sandy, UT. Http://www.theGallerie.com

We think it turned out supurb and that at the age of 7 having a print of art is quite an achievement. Great Job Sierra!

We can make additional prints if anyone choses to have one.  I’m not sure the price yet.

Body Bugg Weight Loss

Filed under: Nathan, Something Great, Tips — Devanie @ 3:20 pm

The Biggest loser advertised The Body Bugg for weight loss, and nathan being all High Tech jumped on the wagon to check it out.  I thought he was just going to get one for himself, but he also got one for me. =) !!!!

It makes you keep an online food journal – which is really easy to use and the calculations even is you have 3/4 of a Honey Bun will let you measure it JUST RIGHT.  plus it calculates the steps you walk and the calories you expend.

Then you get to See if you ate more or less than you needed to to lose weight

Now that I am feeling better after the Kidney Stone incident. . .I have been able to work out more and walk more.  And I have a Calorie DEFICIT everyday.

It all boils down to Calories IN~Calories OUT  and it’s a great way to keep track of it all.

THANKS FOR THE GIFT NATHAN!!!  It’s making me eat more protien and less carbs and fat too!  I think I’m going to have scrambled eggs with salsa for lunch, becasue it was Soooo good for breakfast.

I recommend a Body Bugg for anyone that wants to lose weight.  It’s WORKING!

Lithotripsy Surgery went well

Filed under: SICK, Something Great — Devanie @ 12:48 pm

I’m pretty wiped out.

I have a big brise on my back.  it was so beat up it bled.

I’ve still been feeling the stones pass.  But I’m keeping the pain killers in to help with the pain.

Nathan is doing a great job with the kids.  I hear vaccumes and robot moppers cleaning the kitchen while I rest.

I had them balst the smaller one since it was hurting me more.  So I will have to go through the procedure again for the 10mm one. In about 2 weeks but Nathan will be out of town for 3 weeks in a row. Anout the timr I need the surgery again.  So I will probably be waiting longer for the next one.

FAT FIX & FREE FUEL

Filed under: Something Great, Tips — Devanie @ 5:23 pm

My brother LeeJoe came over and visited a second week and we surprised my cousin Shane and his wife Jessica one evening and visited with them for a while.  It was good to have my side of the family around again.  My cousin lived 10 minutes away and has for a year.  I’ve finally been able to see him, surprize visits seem to be the best for them cuz the sound so busy with their callings and work and school to come out and play.  Lee Joe even got to go up for a 5:30 AM basketball game and he and Shane won their game.  =) that’s always good for guys that like to compete.  Coming out WINNERS.

I wish our ward ladies would show up to basketball on Thursdays it’s more fun where there are more than just 2 of us there.  I’ve started making plans to work out at a different ward – church – group that does all kinds of aerobics 2-3 times a week.  I’m not getting any more fit thanafter I was pregnant with Aurora and I don’t know if I’ll ever be thin again – it’s kina killing me thinking about it but I just don’t have the motivation for it anymore.

EXTRA EXRTA

AMERICANS OBESITY PROBLEM FIXES ON SHORE FUEL ISSUES

While LeeJoe and I were at Shanes’ we came up with the cure to America’s obesity problem and a cure to help naturally fuel the american population.

We are going to get the government to fund FREE liposuctions to the Americans so our Flubber can be refined and used as Diesel-Gas.  Plus America would all FEEL AWESOME for looking thin like everyone on TV and how we WANT to FEEL.  and we would have our own natural recources to pull from at any moment.  Send this to Obama and everyone else that does refining etc that can get it.  we could really work something out =)

We could get paid to recycle our fat like you get paid per ounce/pound of aluminum cans at the recycling plant!  Or get paid for a to go to a “Fat Drive” instead of a Blood Drive.  You just give all that you can. =)  Poor skinny people. . . the ones that already burn fat so well would just benefit from the low price of fuel.  How often in america do you hear someone say poor skinny people – like Leejoe & Janika  NO one says it becasue it’s not fair their bodies are already great recycling plants.

I’m stopping here.

FISHING???

Filed under: Fishing, Hailey, Kids, Pictures, Sierra, Something Great, Tips — Devanie @ 1:21 pm

I’da never thunk it.

I purchased a fishing rod for Sierra the summer after we moved into our new house (2 years ago)

That later sparked Hailey’s interest and she too got a fishing pole.  I think we went once as a family just to practice casting the “Barbie” fishing pole strings, they even had plastic practice fish attached to them.  We got some bait and hooks and tried them out too.

Late last year Sierra’s class went to the local Nature Park with the fishing pond and I sent her to school with the rod.   She came home excited about fishing.  Hailey’s pole was broken by this point.

I took the kids to the park on Monday with their fishing rod.  I just wanted top put the babies in the stroller and spend the day at the park-outsideof t the house and get excersize  while the girls rode bikes around.  That is NOT what happened.  The girls stopped and immediately parked their bikes – and tukas by the sideof the pond and started casting their line.  They moved from one side of the pond to the other.  Leaving me to chase the babies and save them from trying to walk into the water.  So I did what I’d hope any of my friends would do for me, and invited them to come hang out at the park with them.  I called Kathy since she homeschools and told her I would be at the park feeding the ducks and watching the girls fish.  It was about 9:30 AM

Kathy W. showed up with her 3 boys she homeschools – when they hit Middle school/Jr High they immediately go to Public school (which is what I would do – too) So her t older girls couldn’t come.  She arrived at 10:00.  The kids all played on the rocks, fed the ducks, ran around, rode trikes, bikes, tried to skip rocks etc.  Aurora was fussy for bed at her usual 11:00.  I ran her home to see if she could sleep while Nathan worked – Oh how I love his job!  He was OK with letting her stay to sleep so I dropped her off and picked up my $1 store baseball field bases, a couple kid bats and balls and a beach ball.

Back at the park Kathy cared for Hailey and Sierra and we showed up with fun stuff for the boys to play with.

Zach has been bringing me baseball bats lately and wants to play baseball so I’ll toss him a crumbled up piece of paper and let him swing in the house.

All the kids had so much fun joining in a game of Kickball and Baseball.  Kathy’s little Joseph played on the sidelines while Kathy tossed him the ball.  Sierra(a social butterfly and all) was the worst – and she’s in public school.  I’m sure I looked like a crappy Mom because I had a pouting kid (7 year old) when she didn’t get what she wanted – her turn all the time.  Well I cannot be blamed.  I’ve tried putting her in sports and making her take turns.  She has been spoiled at home with things she wants but we are pulling back on a lot of that.  She did get in a play a bit, and turned back to her fishing rod and played and played a long time.  at this point Zach was getting pretty sleepy and just wanted to sit at home on the recliner and watch TV till he falls asleep.  But he decided sitting in the stroller and waiting would be good enough because it would mean that we would be going soon.

We didn’t go.  YET.  Hailey and Sierra were still having so much fun.  Kathy and I talked and talked.  and at 12:00 Kathy packed up and left.  I spent the last 1/2 hr letting the girls fish and trying to tech them that they needed to just let the pols stay in the water – This was WITHOUT bait or anything worth a fishes time.  Zach started dozing off in the stroller, Sierra got to help a fisherman reel in his fish, and we borrowed a piece of bait for the girls to continue to try fishing with. Oh I never did mention we used Cheerios’s for bait ;)

It was quite peaceful.

Tuesday was shopping day.  I took them all to the mall, to the playplace, to Gymboree for clothes for Aurora – she’s OUT of pants.  Over to K-Mart for a present for Daddy – not there – the girls bought bait though and enjoyed hanging out in the fishing section looking at all the possibilities and walked out with pink and hot pink worms that smelled like processed cheese and 2 hooks that hat hot pink fishies on them, over to the pet store parking lot where a couple was trying to sell their litter of 8 pit bulls, vacuumed the vans rugs, Irish Dance practice – (when I went shopping at Walmart for the older girls for Christmas), and home for tacos.

Wednesday – It was – Off to Walmart for a new fishing rod for Hailey (with her own money) We picked up McDonald’s for a picnic, dropped the milk off at home and headed back to the Fishing park with our blanket, lunch, tackle box, and 4 kids.  This time Aurora was up with us until 1:30 and I took them all home so I could drop her off for her nap.  Then it was just Zach and the older 2.  Zach and I played baseball for a bit, ate apples, watched the girls, helped them tie hooks onto rods, and Zach would tromp across the bank and once in a while through the water in his tennis-shoes.  He got sleepy at 2 and wanted to go home ant watch TV in his recliner with his sippy cup – Nathan was OK with that too. SO I was baby-free and Hailey and Sierra had all my attention so we baited, asked other fishermen questions about how to catch the trout in our pond, what kind of bait to use, what flies, what time of day etc.  We got a load of information.  The kids went to the other side of the pond and watched a guy catch 2 in a row!  I slowly followed and told them they had to watch him try to take the hook out of the fishes mouth because they would have to do that if they caught a fish – I try to gross them out bu telling them they will have to chop off the fish head and gut it and de-bone it.  They still choose to fish.  Sierra wants to eat or sell  her fish.  It has been quite nice and restful.  I can see why it’s a hobby for so many -men especially.  Getting away from the workplace and just sitting with hope.  All with HOPE.  There were probably 20 out there yesterday afternoon, it was 50* and felt very warm.

So that’s out start in the fishing world.  I just need to get Tammy to cook them up for us since she’s into that sort of thing and have her come fish with us sometime ;)
