Sierra Stopped Sucking Her Thumb!!!!

I forgot to tell you. . .

I think a lot of Sierra’s acting out has to do with the fact that she isn’t entertaining herself with her thumb anymore. Now we just have to find other stuff for her to do. Just before Hailey’s Birthday we got her to stop by getting FIRE HOT SAUCE from Taco Bell. Nathan and I told her not to do it and if she did it again she would get Hot Sauce on her tounge. Since it was such a Habit we knew just the threat wouldn’t stop her. A few minutes later she put her thumb back into her mouth. We were very Serious and she got some. She hated it and cried we gave her a drink and she felt better, We only had to do it twice and it STOPPED!!!! I thought she would never quit. It was amazing!!!!! The Hair Twirling stopped too. She used to play with everyones hair. She doesn’t now – thats a little sad. I loved that security that she had.

I took the Girls to the Gym. I had a pretty short workout. (broken bottom) Did a bunch of arms, upper body. Then showered and took the girls to the Library/Park. We went to the Adult section of the library since the coupons are there so we could quickly sift through them and bring home what we would use. While there, We had another encounter with MR.GONNA WHIP OUT MY GUN IF YOU MAKE ONE MORE PEEP. This time he came up to us to tell us we were being too loud(which we weren’t) I said goodbye to a person at the table with me when he came over to tell us the noise level was too high for him to read. I said, “What are you going to do Whip out your GUN?”. He said,”No I just wanted to you to know the noise level it too high” I remembered the last time he came over and actually threatened it. What a JERKO!!! This time I threw it back at him and he left. If he Does it one more time, I’ll be telling the librarian and calling the cops. And they can read my posts on devanie.com!!!! I got a good armful of coupons though. And We went to the park for a few minutes before the WHINING started.

How can I get Sierra to stop Whining? The main reason we left was Hailey’s pinch in the swing and she Cried the whole way to the car. We ran over to Have Lunch with Daddy so they could play in the indoor playplace(much better luck!) I got to leave the girls in the car and have a KID FREE shopping experience for a minute. REALLY NICE thanks HUN!!

Came home and Sierra Cried Mainly because she didn’t want to go to bed Plus I gave her 3 pretzels to take to bed. She dropped one and threw a fit because she wanted A LOT. The other reason was that even though we just ate lunch and she ate pretzels all the way home she was still hungry and wanted to eat more so she could stay up longer. AYE!!! Finally after 1/2 hr I caved and put a couple pretzels on her night stand. SHE WASN’T REALLY HUNGRY! But she stood up, Gave me a really really tight hug and smiled really big because I put a lot of pretzels on her night stand. I Said I love you. She said, me too. Should I have caved? Or let her Cry for hours?

well that’s 1/2 a day

I’m going to get dinner ready and work on what to teach for Family Home Evening tonight. Hailey’s up(don’t know if she slept)I had to put her in the Guest room because Sierra was being so loud.

PLAYGROUP MANY FRIENDS at the Park

Strawberry Recipes. Woah!!! 4 post this month that’s it?

Well. . .It has been busy. We have been to the Strawberry patch by our house 6 times this month. YUMMY. . .But I’m down to 9 qt(sm) size bags left of frozen strawberries and 3 jars of jelly. With all the picking we did. It doesn’t look like we will have enough for the winter. Nor enough for July. They are just too good as

Smoothies

1/2 to 1 qt bag frozen strawberries

Milk just passed the strawberries

1/2 C sugar.

Blend til SMOOTH.

YUM!!! Can’t even count how many we have all had. And

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

1/2 C Ghiradelli Milk choc chips

Wash&Dry fresh Strawberries Dip quickly, Place on foam plate or wax paper on plate put in fridge to harden.

Last night I created:

chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothies

1 Scoop Strawberry Ice Cream

2 scoops chocolate Ice cream(Neapolitan has both)

1/2 qt bag frozen strawberries

milk to top

1/4 C Ghiradelli Milk choc chips

Blend.

and of course Strawberry Shortcake.

The girls have been to some great Birthday and other Parties this month. A Swim party at the church and a Gardening Birthday party(really cute Ideas). And Hailey’s which she chose to be a Rainbow/Purple My Little Pony party. She had 38 kids and 21 adults throughout the whole day and we had the 2 bouncy castles, cake a 3 Foot sub from Subway,(which was gone before dinner) and we set up the trampoline, Pool, and Slip and slide while they visitors enjoyed, popsicles and drinks all day long. It was fun fun fun. Hailey got a cold the night before and her voice was raspy but she still enjoyed her presents and friends.

We have had many playgroups with friends from church meeting at the park, birthdays the Gym and so on. Have yet to visit the beach. Checked out a Free preschool for Sierra since we CANNOT afford preschool as others do. It’s held in a High School as the High Schoolers Child Development program. They all have jobs teaching the kids, reading to them, etc as the teacher directs and helps them. It’s been at the school for 20 years and does well. We also signed the girls up for Ballet fairly reasonable price but still more than we can affford. It starts July 8 every THURSDAY til Aug 12.(sorry Shana) TaeKwonDo is at 1 on Thurs too so we will be hitting the Library in between and cannot go to the beach. Any other day is better for us though.

The night of the 21st (Hailey’s birthday just 2 1/2 hrs before mine)I bruised my bottom really bad slipping down the wooden garage steps. I’ve been in pain since and sometimes I think it’s getting worse.

I have gone out with The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints the past 2 saturdays knocking on doors and sharing the most important message of all to others. We have had some good chats with people and some great stories from door slams. It’s been fun I really like doing it. I just hope I’m helping and not hindering.

Went to the Trumbull Day Fireworks last night hoping to see family (not paying $20(that we don’t have) to see family. Sorry Guys. We saw a GREAT show anyways and were in and out Fast with hardly any traffic. Where we sat was perfect. Our walk to and from the far was long, but a good workout with kids on our backs and shoulders. The girls loved the show. We thought it was one of ther better ones we have seen. We especially likets the ones that were Big and White and all the little white spots blasted into puffs like Calliflower. Really pretty Hailey called the Rainbow ones Fairy Fireworks. Sierra sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to the one that dripped sparkly stars for a long time. The Finalle was BOOMSOME!!! We all cuddled together to keep warm. What a happy family of 4 and a great memory. Did I mention I love my Husband? Well I do. Still. . . I DO.

My Bithday Yesterday la di dah 26 no biggie just 26 just hit OLD no more young birthdays that ended at 25. . .Mels next Hah hah! What’s even sadder is my own Dad thought I must be 28 or 29(forgetting a kid). Nathan and I went to the Olive Garden for Dinner YUM! and we got to see The Terminal with Tom Hanks. It was Good. Thanks Hunny! You are a sweetie and my best friend! Thanks for BabySitting Kathy! Sorry for the “I want my Mommy” tears Sierra shed most of the night.

Orange Belt & Strawberry Picking. . .

We have had a lot going on the past few weeks one of the worst things was that my Computer lost it’s internet access and I couldn’t post pictures, However, Nathan love’s me. He took care of the issue at hand. For My birthday(Early) I asked for a CD-R drive so I could put put my pics on CD He got me a DVR drive so I could do both. My Birthday is next week but he put my computer together for me. He dove in yesterday to put the new drive in and found 6 CDs and Games that the Girls had SHOVED into it through the cracks. 3 of them I hadn’t seen for 2 years since the Waterbury house and the others had been there about 8 months nothing recent though. Cram packed Computer!!! SOOOO now we know what happened.

Hailey worked hard to recieve her Orange belt in TaeKwonDo. She did really well. She got Her 3rd trophy, Broke a board with her elbow recieved her 2nd Big Star(have to get stripes from 30 classes to get that) and so here she is with all her accomplishmnets and her Tiger Face!

3:30 to 7:15 PM MUSTA BEEN A BLAST!!!! Those Dads of siblings are TROOPERS. Thanks go out to all of them as well!!!!!!

We will have to do it again as a girls day out for then next group of 3-4 moms and plan 4-5 hours for fun!
