Pneumonia Has Plauged our little family. Sierra is being hit the hardest. Since last Wednesday I have clocked her fever at 102.6 and below and it’s been constant. Finally Took her to the Dr tonight and She should be better in about a month! She’s on Zithromax and hopefully will be feeling better soon. I’ve had Walking pneumonia for at least a month now. My cough is getting a little better. I thought about committing myself to the Dr but I think I’ll pull through. It’s only really bad when I laugh. I haven’t been to the gym for over a week now I’m betting if I went I’d probably cough up a lung or 2.

Poor Sierra though. She’s been on the couch for days eating push up popsicles and drinking KoolAid it’s all she really wants so I have been loading her with vitamins and medicine and I can occasionally get her to eat a few bites of somthing real. She asked for a piece of bread tonight for dinner. I think we will be on the up and up soon. If we can make it thru the coughing, wheezing and crying.

A miracle/Blessing has happened in our family’s life again!!!!

Just yesterday I was debating on wether or not I should write a note to the school so I could pick Hailey up after So I could head over and babysit for a friend. In the nick of time just before Hailey headed out the door I threw the note in her backpack(while she was wearing it-that’s how close). I was going to pick her up from school! And thank Goodness too!!! Thank you Heavenly Father for Sparing my baby of this tramatic experiance. Her bus caught on FIRE kids were Screaming and had to hurry together to get away from it. She was not one of the 42 students on the bus last night and I am VERY thankful. I know it’s a blessing because I’m sure she would have issues riding a bus for the rest of her life if she had to see that. The bus went up in flames in 3 minutes.

MILFORD, Conn. — A school bus driver was being hailed a hero Tuesday after safely getting 42 children off her bus when it caught fire.

Classes ended early Tuesday at Matthew Elementary School in Milford because of a parent-teacher conference. The children were on their way home around 1:30 p.m. when the bus suddenly caught fire.

Authorities said the bus driver, Janett Murray, saw smoke in the cabin and immediately stopped the vehicle. She reportedly suffered some smoke inhalation while getting all the kids off the bus as quickly as she could.

By the time firefighters extinguished the flames, the school bus was charred black.

The children boarded a second bus that took them back to school, where they were reunited with their parents.

Authorities have not said what caused the bus to catch fire.

Murray was expected to return to work Wednesday.

“I looked up and I saw smoke coming from the front of the bus,” Graham O’Brien, a student on the bus. I was like screaming, I was terrified and everybody was like screaming and wailing their arms around.”

Pretty Good I think!

———————————————–

From Janika:

Parenting Test

Take this simple test to determine whether or not you are ready to have

children…

THE MESS TEST:

Smear peanut butter on the sofa and curtains. Now rub your hands in the

wet flower bed and rub on the walls. Cover the stains with crayons.

Place a fish stick behind the couch and leave it there all summer.

THE TOY TEST:

Obtain a 55-gallon box of Legos. (If Legos are not available, you may

substitute roofing tacks or broken bottles.) Have a friend spread them

all over the house. Put on a blindfold. Try to walk to the bathroom or

kitchen. Do not scream. (This could wake a sleeping child.)

THE GROCERY STORE TEST:

Borrow one or two small animals (goats are best) and take them with you

as you shop at the grocery store. Always keep them in sight and pay for

anything they eat or damage.

THE DRESSING TEST:

Obtain one large, unhappy, live octopus. Stuff into a small net bag,

making sure that all arms stay inside.

THE FEEDING TEST:

Obtain a large plastic milk jug. Fill halfway with water. Suspend from

the ceiling with a stout cord. Start the jug swinging. Try to insert

spoonfuls of soggy cereal (such as Fruit Loops or Cheerios) into the

mouth of the jug, while pretending to be an airplane. When finished,

dump the contents of the jug on the floor and over your clothes.

THE NIGHT TEST:

Prepare by obtaining a small cloth bag and fill it with 8-12 pounds of

sand. Soak it thoroughly in water. At 8 PM begin to waltz and hum with

the bag until 9 PM. Lay down your bag and set your alarm for 10pm. Get

up, pick up your bag, and sing every song you have ever heard. Make up

about a dozen more and sing these until 4 am. Set alarm for 5 am. Get up

and make breakfast. Keep this up for 5 years. Look cheerful.

INGENUITY TEST

Take an egg carton. Using a pair of scissors and pot of paint, turn it

into an alligator. Now take a toilet paper tube and turn it into an

attractive Christmas candle. Use only scotch tape and a piece of foil.

Last, take a milk carton, a ping-pong ball, and an empty box of Cocoa

Puffs. Make an exact replica of the Eiffel Tower.

AUTOMOBILE TEST

Forget the BMW and buy a station wagon. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone

and put it in the glove compartment. Leave it there. Get a dime. Stick

it into the cassette player. Take a family size package of chocolate

chip cookies. Mash them into the back seat. Run a garden rake along both

sides of the car. There, perfect.

THE PHYSICAL TEST (WOMEN):

Obtain a large beanbag chair and attach it to your front under your

clothes. Leave it there for 9 months. Now remove 10 of the beans. And

try not to notice your closet full of clothes. You won’t be wearing them

for a while.

THE PHYSICAL TEST (MEN):

Go to the nearest drugstore. Set your wallet on the counter. Ask the

clerk to help himself. Now proceed to the nearest food store. Go to the

head office and arrange for your paycheck to be directly deposited to

the store. Purchase a newspaper. Go home and read it quietly for the

last time.

THE FINAL ASSIGNMENT:

Find a couple who already has a small child. Lecture them on how they

can improve their discipline, patience, tolerance, toilet training, and

child’s table manners. Suggest many ways they can improve. Emphasize to

them that they should never allow their children to run rampant. Enjoy

this experience. It will be the last time you have all the answers.

Couponing for Beginners

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Put your coupons in some organized manner that makes sense to you. Like a binder with the 9 card holders and use page protectors or photo pages for the bigger coupons.
Look for “unadvertised” deals in your stores.
Bring ALL of your coupons with you everywhere to take advantage of extra savings
Use Store AND Manufacturer coupons together – especially for Walgreen’s, CVS
If you can scan them yourself . . .You scan it.
Ask your local stores about their coupon and price matching policies. Some stores do take expired coupons. Some stores double or even triple all the time or certain days/ events.
Check in with the boards (mycoupons) at least daily – check each section too! I find deals not posted in TOT but are in LWIF or even MTCW
Shop after holidays at your grocery store and any stores- holiday decorated items are clearanced out (candy, paper towels, plastic wrap, freezer bags, cookies, crackers, cereals) use coupons and get them for nearly free or free….
Check the way back of your store – they may have a mark down area – boxes with cut marks, dented cans, single items that are out of multi pk pkging. Close out items due to new labels on pkging. Keep on eye out in the aisles for pkgs that look slightly different- the older style pkg may be on sale…. or it may be a better deal to get the older pkg (has more ounces, more items) 10% more free etc.
Different parts of the country get different coupons and/or coupons for varying amounts. While Texas may get a $.50/1 California may get $1/2. Often people talk about coupons they got they didn’t see in their area. This is why trading is so valuable. For instance if you live somewhere where they double to $.50 and your coupon in the Sunday paper for ketchup was $.55 then maybe you can trade with someone else who does not have doubles and got a coupon for $.40 that would be more valuable to you both. You would be able to double to make the coupon worth $.80 and the other person would be able to save $.55 instead of $.40.
Trade Locally – contacts at work, families that don’t use any/all of their coupons, friends, trade for them or offer (free) a product to them.
Bag your own groceries, because that can be done while the clerk is scanning the coupons. That way, you don’t annoy anyone behind you, or hand them a coupon for something in their cart (if you have one) Just keep an eye on the scanner – you could get an item that is regularly priced instead of sale priced.
Buy items on sale, and stock up. I don’t need to explain this.
Look for recycling bins for newspapers, where on Monday, usually there are bundles of Sunday papers, usually including inserts. “dumpster diving” Has come in handy for MANY people.
One friend would happily pay $3.99 for a box of Raisin Bran without a second thought. Now, she will stock up when it goes on sale, and stock up until the next sale. Average cost is at most $1.50 a box. Try not to pay more than $1/box if you can help it. You’d be surprised!
Look for places that double $1.00 coupons.
Another tip is to organize or index the coupons in a separate card-file box, with alphabetical dividers. The boxes last for years so do the dividers.
Each month, it is a good idea to throw out all of the expired coupons. Takes about 1 hr to add new and toss old.
Another tip is that you could subscribe to more than one Newspaper, but you need only receive it on the day the coupons are delivered. You make double the bang if you only use one of the coupons, I usually use at
least 10.
My goal is to save at least 50% on every order or never pay more than 25 cents on something I will sell at a garage sale for $1.
You can get cheap eggs and milk at the farmers fruit/vegetable markets and Gas stations are usually cheaper for milk.
mycoupons.com
shopping boards
Coupon Rebate Swap CRS
Check out your Store Fliers online. And order your coupons in advance! In time for the sale!!!
To those looking for ideas & tricks & tips: All I can suggest is just keep reading mycoupons.com shopping boards. You’ll learn the art of ‘diving,’ where & how to find ‘extra’ inserts, and how to get what you need/want at what you consider ‘reasonable’ trade values.
Hang out at the CRS board to get a ‘feel’ for what’s currently available and what people are trading for these days.
If you’re not sure of terminology, check the ‘Help Desk’ section on mycoupons.com, or ASK if it’s not there (most of them are). Everyone here is glad to help. No question is a dumb one.
Order multiples of coupons– recycling centers, family members, the local gas station, find extra inserts! (Trade on the CRS board if you don’t have an insert source)
Clip every coupon and file it somewhere you can find it. You NEVER know what will go on sale. Be ready! If you know there is a coupon you would like to have. Don’t wait for a sale before you start trying to get your coupon, you need it BEFORE the sale starts!! Your store may only run the special for 2-3 days? You won’t be able to trade for it in time.
Become unbrand loyal. so, your family only likes Heinz ketchup???? Well, buy Hunts, too if its cheap/free and use it for things like meatloaf/meatballs. Family probably won’t notice it in baked things. You can always find a use for something – even if it’s just to sell it at a garage sale later!
Know your coupons and match coupons up to the sale items from your store/stores
Buy in BULK Stockpile!(buying the smaller items with coupons at grocery stores makes your budget stretch Costco cannot do that you buy 2-3 things there and it’s already $50 and you have nothing to show for it. You get a mix w/cpns and sales!)! Buy enough of one item to get us through 6-12 months (or longer if its canned goods/frozen stuff). If something is a good deal you want to get all you will use!
Think small!! You can sometimes get smaller items for free. When the large ones would’ve been cheap, the small ones were free or very close. And since you will have LOTS of multiples you can purchase the small ones and not have to spend a penny.
Meat is usually marked down in the a.m. and will last in your extra freezer for a long time. (If you don’t have an extra freezer, invest in one, look in the newspaper ads.)(I use my FoodSaver to remove air before freezing my uncooked and pre-cooked meats.
Look for special coupon displays in your stores and try me free displays (mail in forms) you can usually make money on the TMF forms. And Look for Coupon tear Pads they may have handy coupons for you too.
Remember that RainChecks are your best friend, once you have a RainCheck, you can trade for multiples of a coupon and THEN use your RainCheck with the coupons!!
This may sound corny, but practice what you will say to the cashier when they say things, like, that product is not in the picture, or it says ANY not just the one pictured etc. so that you will be prepared to defend yourself remember to ask for a Real LIVE manager if they give you real problems. And remember everyone’s name =) lol
The best cashiers are the young teenage boys because they don’t really care as long as it’s not expired.
I was invited to my neighbors Ede celebration. They are Muslims and have been fasting for a month. Before the fast started my neighbor bought me a dress for the party. This summer I went to her sons birthday party and mentioned that I liked how pretty the dresses are. So she got me one from Packistan and here it is. It was a beautiful party. The food was good(spicy) and the dessert was very different but very good. I bonded with her 4 mo old baby. The dress got messed eweeeewe and I ended up changing about 1/2 way thru the party. It was a nice evening and I was able to mention the Mormon Church a few times and I think that’s progress.
Here’s a pic.
