Memorial Weekend picnic

We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at Aunt Shana and Uncle Marks house. Ate Hot Dogs, Jello, Spinach Dip, Chips, Beans, Potato salad etc. And after the kids played for a couple hours we toasted marshmallows to make Smores. It took a while for Uncle Mark to get the fire going and all kids except Sierra got up and left. Sierra was very patient for a long time waiting to roast her mello. At one point she said to Mark “Are you sure that’s how you start a fire?” Then she started tapping him on the back with her marshmallow on the stick. I don’t think he heard what she said but it was very cute.

Nathan snapped a bunch of great pictures. It’s nice to have someone else behind the camera for a change. You get a different view of the activity at hand.

Uncle Cliff got caught in the hammock, The Kids chased the 2 chickens and the chickens chased the 10 kids, Jorge played in the bubbles, Ben cried because a girl at the party took over the big bubble maker and that made him sad. Aunt Chris got smored. I made smores and showed them off and Sierra enjoyed eating the chocolate and marshmallow out of the smores mmmmmmmmmmm.

Friday Hailey brought home a “Magic Eye” from school (the pink one) and today I helped them make a bunch more They really had fun and I got to talk to Hailey about Ben in her class. I asked if she likes him. She said that she plays “Lovey Tag” with him on the playground and only she and Ariana chase him and give him a hug.
I remember playing chase and kiss. Thanks goodness she’s not doing that!!! I have told her that kisses are not OK with boys and that if she gets a kiss from a boy she will get cooties in her stomach that she won’t be able to see. I also mentioned that she has to get married and then she won’t get cooties. I think we are safe for another few years. I’ll have to remind her again then.

Her tooth is really loose looks like the tooth fairy will be visiting in the next couple weeks. I got 25 cents from my tooth fairy. I hope she gets at least $2.

Hailey had a Celebration of Reading at her school Friday and was the 1st little pig in The Three Little Pigs story. She did a great job. The whole class was so cute. I’m amazed at how popular Hailey seems to be with her friends. She’s very outgoing and happy around all of them. Sierra has become pretty popular with the kids there too. Whenever we visit the class the kids all want to give Sierra a knock over hug and when they see me they always say, “Hi Mrs.Stout” or the other day it was I know who you are you’re Hailey’s Mom. Hailey also read her handmade book to me about “May”.

Sierra has this thing with trying to make me go her way by staying where she’s at or asking me to follow her someplace. Yesterday after Picking Hailey up from Daisies it was the same story. She wasn’t going to budge unless I just kept walking or I stayed with her to do whatever it was by the door that she wanted me to do. Well Since Hailey was ahead of me I had to have both of them in my sights. She noticed I was still heading toward the car. And she came running behind me FULL FORCE as I turned she had started stumbling and stumbling and almost caught herself when suddenly as I bent over to stop her she fell the top oh her head landing first on the sidewalk and she rolled over almost somersaulting through the air. Poor kid. Hopefully she has learned to slow down a bit. I picked her up and held her for a while. She seemed just fine. Her head had barely been marked. She held it for a few seconds and happily went on her way the rest of the day.

Sierra and I went to Hailey’s school to help the Daisy scouts plant Daisies – however they cancelled it because they THOUGHT it was going to rain(it didn’t) So. . .Sierra and I planted roses in the backyard and ivy in the mailbox plant holders yesterday. She was so excited to get to pick out a flower from the store and get a gardening tool kit to help plant with mommy. When it was time to get dirty she didn’t want to have anything to do with it. She pulled out 3 tiny weeds after I forced her to. And spent a little time digging with the shovel. Mostly she enjoyed watering the plants and washing off the shovels after the work was done. I’m afraid I was too rough with my white roses I hope they survive.

Spotlight on the Ooohhs and Aaahhs the girls get:
They make peoples heads turn that would have otherwise remained quiet. Like when I make a “crown braid” in their hair everyone is so impressed and think they just stepped out of a magazine. And Sierra loves to wear dresses so that makes her even more of a princess when the 2 of us go out in public. I always have them say “Thank You” I should be working on using them as a tool to share the gospel – I have said it before but I just forget because I feel impressed by the people that have stopped to gock at the girls that I stand admiringly and say Thank You and that doesn’t seem to be doing the world much good.

Grandma- Thanks for keeping your agreement to send Sierra’s Postcard back she was Thrilled! Hailey was too. We appreciate all you do and love you dearly.

I have been Brainstorming career possibilities for myself and these are a few of my thoughts. If there is anything you can think of that you believe I’d be good at or that you can “See Me” doing please add it to the comment list and I’ll think them over.

Here are some things I like to do and I’m interested in:

Real Estate – I’d love to Sell Homes
Reasons:
-I like sales
-I like People
-I like Homes-and how people decorate them
-I like getting the most bang for my buck or someone else’s
Concerns:
-Understanding all the financial details
-Finding a job

Home Organization and Room re-do’s on a Budget
Ie:Clean Sweep, Mission Organization, Design Remix, Design on a Dime etc.
Reasons:
-I love getting into and organizing projects(mostly for other people) It’s easier to help throw out someone else’s trash and “treasures”
-Figuring out how to do it for cheap
-Seeing a finished result
-Designing a finished solution – Interior Decoration and Design
-Garage Saleing the junk – love pricing garage sales
Concerns:
-There may not be an accredited college course on the precise subject
-People don’t want to pay for something they can eventually “get around to”
-Building up clientele & figuring out how much I’d get paid

My Mom Mentioned
Elementary Education
Reasons:
-There’s always a need and will be a bigger one when the oldies retire
-K-5th are the best grades for someone like me
-Kids will be shorter than me(only time)
-I’d be a good teacher(with enough prep)
-Summer Vacation
-Short work days
-Can work where the kids go to school
Concerns:
-I can’t even teach my own kids
-Too many kids drive me bonkers
-I’d have to spell correctly all the time – my bad spelling is mostly speedy keyboard errors
-I’m not Tactful
-I’m not Empathetic

Right for me? Wrong for me? any suggestions?

This is a note to my children and to myself a reminder/memory.

Pregnancy is tough on your body.

If you are me at least. Just in the fist 3.75 months:

-I rarely get headaches and I’ve had one on my right temple for 3 days.
-I’m tired – it’s not like when I had the Urinary Tract infection, just tired.
-I look like I’m not pregnant in the morning but by evening I look like I’m 8 months pregnant
-I’ve had to switch doctors
-My back already aches
-I had heartburn for a little while in the 1st 3 months – had to buy tums
-I’ve had a urinary tract infection
-Ligiment pains in my lower belly
-at 3 1/2 mo neigbors figure out I’m pregnant just by how I walk/waddle to the bus-stop
-I’m still nausious
-Certian foods were completely undesireable
-Certian foods are completely craved
-A growth in my abdomen
-Bad pap smear that needed to be re-done
-My ribs have good days and bad days they feel like someone has put their fingers under them and pulled them up really hard and didn’t take their hands off. That didn’t happen until the 8th month with the girls.
-Extreme aversion to bathroom smells – so bad I had a nightmare about them last night and was gagging in my dream.
-Have to drink at least every 5 hours and pee every 2
-Bathroom runs 1-2 times a night
-I’m nesting – want everything dust free and clean
-Kidney Stones acting up – big PAIN

I eat well, started excersizing again, drink plenty of fluids and manage my 3 other family members so they have food, a clean house and get to their activities throughout the day. Where’s my Mommy when I need her?
