The Board Of Education selected Hailey’s artwork as one of the items to display at the government center so we went to see it. She said she had to make the snowman 1/3 of her size(the person in the picture). We think it’s pretty neat she’s learning things like proportion in 1st grade. The girls enjoyed walking around and looking at the other artwork too. This is Hailey’s Second year in the BOE Art Hall of Fame =)

We’re Pregnant!!!!

Because this is also my journal . .

Today at 2:30 PM after going to the gym, dropping Nathans wallet off at his work , taking Hailey to the Dentist to have her 1st little cavity filled, taking the girls to McDonalds for a job well done, Consoling Sierra for a lost balloon, I stopped by a conveniance store and picked up a pregnancy test.

and then the day just got more and more EXCITING!!!

We found out today that we are having our 4th child. Soon, I know, but I couldn’t be more Excited!!! Maybe the most excited yet!!

We are due Dec 1, assuming all is going to go well.
That. . .incase you are wondering. . .will make Zach and The Newest addition 13 months apart.

Happy Birthday Sierra!!!
Today you turned 5!!!
I’m going to make this a collective post as this is Sierra’s 5th year of life and she has shared it with so many people. As you post your favorite memories or anything your remember Sierra saying or doing. I’d like to Dedicate this birthday page to her from all the people that love her.
Sierra I saved a blanket from the hospital when you were born, the nurses said we could keep it. It was the first blanket I wrapped you in and Daddy and I held you in our arms for hours that night. We adored your tiny little fingers and the uniqueness of your beautiful face. And the next morning you met your sister, Hailey who was at your side since the day you were born(at least until she went to kindergarten). Where ever we go people stop to tell you you are beautiful, that you are pretty and that you have gorgeous hair. And most of the ladies wished they were blessed to have your haircolor. You stop people in their tracks and they have to comment. If we walk past them and they don’t say something right away I still hear them talk about you and that puts a smile on my face knowing that you brightened someone’s day, Just by being on the earth.
God gave us a Dancer, a Joker, a Music lover, a Beauty, a Girly Girl, a Princess, A smartie, a Cutie, a Rock(strong), a Girl that loves her family, and just needs a bandaid and a kiss to make the worst pains go away, and needs a companion(Mom/Dad) on the sofa to get her through the scary parts of a show, and a strong willed individual that knows how to laugh and bring light and joy into others lives. We are extremely blessed to have you in our family. Though we have our trials and timeouts and crying, We love eachother dearly and we are grateful for YOU!

So tonight as I laid you down to sleep I go to hold you can cuddle you like a baby and I told you about your blanket. I got it out for you so you could see it and you wanted me to try it on you again. It ended up looking more like a diaper, but you didn’t care(it made you laugh). Then you helped me carefully fold it to be put away for another day. Then we tried Hailey’s, almost identical blanket, on her and spent extra time laughing together as you squished my cheeks and tried to hold my tongue while I repeated things you wanted me to say. You laughed so hard you were out of breath, then Hailey had her turn and you laughed as I said, “Rubber baby buggy bumpers” and “Taco Taco”. The I sang Happy birthday to you as I wound up the music boxes in your room. After we had Zach the nightly songs from Mommy stopped and the music boxes became a favorite way to fall asleep. Your birthday parties are over. You are officially 5 and somedays time just goes too fast.

A Tribute:Memories of Sierra

Grandma Lay says she remembers:
When you visited her in Idaho and bounced on her trampling when you were 2 years old. How your hair looked like a little ball of fluff as you pressed your nose to the trampling and looked to the ground.
She also remembers you standing in your Porta Crib at her house in Idaho while The new house was being built and you got to stay with Mom and Hailey there for a while.
And when she came out for Mommy’s birthday last June and watched you color at the kitchen table and visited with her. And all the fun you had wading in the pool under the new Awning that Daddy put up so it wouldn’t be so sunny while you played outside.
Grandma Stout Says:
I remember being so surprised that Sierra had red hair like her sister. What are the chances that parents with straight, brown hair would have two children with curly, red hair! It was too good to be true! She was a beautiful baby and very cuddly. Sierra reminds me of Great Grandma Copen in looks and personality and that makes her very special to me. I remember how excited she would get when Hailey came home from school…I hope she still does that. She would cry “My sister, my sister!” as she jumped up and down with joy. She is all girl and I loved when she was little and wore her tu-tu (sp?) all the time, day after day, and danced and danced around the family room. She has always been very sweet and loving with me, and lots of fun to be around. I love her very much! Grandma Stout

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Biggest Loser competition. Collectively, the competitors lost 112 lbs! In addition, here are some other fun numbers:

635 Lunges
496 Push-ups
68,114 Stairs Ascended
753,779 Steps

… and …

20,000 Nothings! (Kathy will have to explain what those are.)

Everyone that participated deserves a round of applause. Our biggest overall loser is Devanie who lost 14.86% of her total body weight during the competition and would have likely lost more if I had not intervened several weeks back and encouraged her to stop dieting. She did GREAT!

Perhaps next year we can consider another installment of the Biggest Loser. Let me know if you’re interested. In the meantime, remember to drink lots of water, get some sleep, and stay active!

Sierra,
The Story behind the Fat Ring Finger & the Skinny Ring Finger

We have a broken finger from Duckpin Bowling

Yep. . .
I’m a Horrible Mother.

I neglected it because Hailey Hurt her finger at Sierra’s age, we went and had ex-rays done and her finger was sprained. So I figured Sierra’s was the same. Especially since it was JUST Duckpin Bowling balls. The problem with the assumption between the two girls is. . .Though it hurt Sierra terribly, she was soothed by a bandaid and an ice pack- Hailey cried and cried and cried. Making me cry too! (Her fingers were smashed between a table and a brick wall at the church)

As I clipped Sierra’s nails yesterday. She said, “Whenever people squeeze my finger it hurts.” It’s still swollen, I even had her checked out a few weeks ago at my doctors office and my doctor just mentioned it being swollen (as Hailey’s was). We happily put a bandaid on it for weeks and she was fine. 5 weeks later, it’s still swollen. She can still move it without pain, but if it’s squeezed it hurts.

SOOOOO, there’s nothing we can do. The bone has already grown over it (we never got it ex-rayed the pediatrician said it’s too late to fix, but it had been broken, he told us we didn’t need to ex-ray it) He also gave me a long story, all about how Lou Gherrig broke all of his fingers multiple times yet never missed a single game and his bones just kept healing themselves. Equating to = Lou Gherrig Disease. Then he showed me his own finger, that he hurt when he was 18 and how it had an extra thickness to it. I asked if it’s going to effect her in the long run. He said, “Because it’s on her right hand, she won’t have trouble getting a wedding ring off and on”. But since she’s 4 She should grow out of it ok.

Lesson learned: even though you have a, tough as nails little girl/boy, take them to get ex-rayed no-matter what! And watch out for those itty bitty Dukpin Bolwling Balls they can break fingers!

This happened Feb 19, 2006
Went to her Dr. today even though, I’m sure we were probably in at least once in between with Zach, and the visit to my Dr. And still never had it checked.

If anyone wants to sign her finger at her rollerskating birthday party tomorrow just remember not to squeeze!

Sorry Sierra, next time make more of a FUSS over it.

How about achieving 101%? What equals 100% in life?

Here’s a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions:

Then:

But,
