GETTING READY
I though I was just going to sit at home and do nothing. Which is how my body felt I should be, my mind also, but I went along anyways.
1st I got the kids ready for the day – that in and of itself is a daunting task, and worse when you are VERY under the weather – medicated, sore, and outa sorts. My medicine was making me very tired and dizzy and I could NOT think straight ALL day long not could I speak very well as my throat is KILLING ME. I cannot protect my kids by yelling to them, I cannot stop fights. My ears were ringing, head pounding etc, but I carried on.
I had to have Nathan drive the girls to Irish Dance. I was in no shape to drive. Plus I used the opportunity to get Zach and Aurora ready and take my shower so we could all go to Grandma and Grandpa Stout’s ”Gallerie”.
“THE GALLERIE”
we went to the GRAND OPENING of Nathan’s parents new store, “THE GALLERIE”. I got to browse the showroom without the kids for a minute! We donated food to the Utah Food bank so we could get pictures from Kathryn Michael’s Photography of our children in Halloween costumes Free 8X10s =) what a bargain. They had hay bales stacked up with pumpkins to create a Halloween backdrop. We just have to show up next weekend to get our prints and then we can find a cute frame for cheap that is really a $20.00 frame. It’s a shame the advertising for it got all messed up. I’m sure people would have taken more advantage of the deal and fallen in love just like I did! There will be more opportunity!

So the kids got pictures, had doughnuts and cider and played with cousins and a couple other people. We got to see an artist painting and I really enjoyed ALL the things the gallerie had to offer, framed artwork at good prices, beautiful vases, wooden bowl and vase sculptures, pens, note cards, ornaments, gold leaf napkin rings and ornaments, and really great frame mouldings – I loved the thick chunky ones!
I thought the idea of opening a Gallery in such hard economic times was a strange thing to do, but the items inside have me ADDICTED and I WANT to go back for MORE! – what scent did they have in there that could have made someone addicted? Maybe it was the BRAND NEW carpentry scent and the wood frames. Maybe the artists canvas and paint, Maybe the smell of clean and not the smell of KIDS like I dwell in all day! The items are exquisite. I want to shout it to the world!! (Maybe their slogan should be “Feed the Addiction”) just like Costa Vida’s only in a different way!! =)
LETTERBOXING
We had planned to go to a corn maze and hunt down another letterbox. Nathan talked Suzie and her 4 kids into coming with us and we all loaded up an headed over. The corn maze was closed due to open in 2 hours – Thankfully the letterbox was completely outside of the maze and we were able to do that part. Sorry kids and Suz, we will have to do a real corn maze another time. It was Suzie and the kids 1st time. We took pictures, and they signed their name in the notebook! they are officially LETTERBOXERS now. I believe they really enjoyed the experience and the coolest part was that her kids learned what a telephone pole is =) you had to count past 3 of them as part of the clues to the box.
FAMILY
Suzie invited our family to go to their place and pick out some pumpkins. we drove through McDonald’s on the way and followed her home. Nathan and I sat and rested eating out lunch while the kids chased chickens around the yard, collected eggs, rode little toys, chased the cat, played with cousins, had lunch and whatever else kids do. I was quite loopy and tired so I’m not sure what ALL happened.
THE SPARROWS NEST
I have items at this NEW Boutique in Centerville, UT on Paiges Lane between DI and Dick’s market. The GRAND OPENING WAS today too. I was feeling horrible and just wanted to be home in bed, however I asked Nathan if we could go check it out since it wasn’t closing time yet.
My items are in the front window right now getting MAXIMUM exposure. I’ve sold 8 items since the doors opened on the 28th of September. The dresses aren’t selling so well, but the Squeaky shoes are doing very well. So far I have made my rent and enough to cover their 12% commission. But it’s hard starting out the 1st 3 months are usually just getting the word out and creating exposure to the items.
GARAGE
Last week I worked my tukas off rearranging, sorting, tossing, clearing setting up shelving in the garage. I had quite a bit to go but I could get the car back in after I made a mess that prevented it for a night – or 2. We pulled up and Nathan wanted to immediately get to work on that – we had time the weather was perfect- though I lacked any motivation, energy, patience or love for the idea of fixing up the entire garage at my state of being. But I tuffed it out and let him take charge. He re-arranged almost everything. I tossed out the things I wasn’t able to get to last time. I filled the back of the van with the pre-determined donation items. We cleared, cleaned, swept and moved somethings out and some up high to make room for the Jeep to park in the winter. There was room before, it would just be a bit tighter squeeze than last year. It’s almost complete. I just hope there’s room for the kids bikes & strollers after all the moving around.
I cooked dinner and had it on the table by 7:20 PM which is almost unheard of. We usually have dinner by 5:30.
I cooked chicken grilled it on the stove and made BBQ chicken. I microwaved potatoes for baked potatoes, and threw on leftover Salas, Jello, all the Baked Potato Fixins, drinks, grapes and helped all the kids get their plates together. Nathan was to hot to eat hot food. Aurora chose to throw her lovingly mashed baked potato at the floor, Zach picked at his a little, I mashed mine with the intent of enjoying it I doubly mashed and squished it for easier swallowing – I have to eat in order to take my medicine, but I have to have my medicine in order to eat and my timeing had been way off this time so it KILLED to swallow every bit. My body was actually shaking a bit like it does when it’s in pain and shock starts kicking in. I got the meds down. if I don’t take it every 3 1/2 hrs this is the trouble I go through. Not that anyone cares. I jsutneed to remember to overlap by 1/2 hr so I can at least swallow with my tonsils out. OH how I wish I just had an IV drip in me for the 2-3 weeks I cannot use my mouth! I ended up giving most of it to the girls and watching th rest go down the drain.
