Visit with Grams

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 5:59 pm

After spending a few days  with Lee Joe’s family and seeing my Mom.  I took a trip to Aunt Gwens and stayed the night.  The next day I got to see my Cousins Andy, Krishaun, and Laura. My kids got to play with second cousins just a little younger than them. we had a yummy lunch.  Aunt Gwen made our traditional pancake and eggs breakfast.  We can thank Sierra for having her start that tradition. ;)

It was close to nap time for my cousins kids so only Andy was able to come with me to see the girls Great Grandma.  Andy was my tour guide.

We got to Grams place.  It was GEORGEOUS!!! brand new Assisted Living home for up to 15 residents and only 10 were there.  It had gorgeous furnishings, kitchen, living room, and then her room was furnished with her things from home it had a kitchenette in it and sofa and plenty of chairs for company.

She visited with Andy for the 1st part.  She had Andy fix her TV so she cold watch movies. The kids started getting restless and grandma just kept telling them not to get their sucker on the furniture or lean on the table she was more worried about her possessions than the company that came by to visit her.  We finally had a few minutes to chat and she chatted about other people.  She did ask one what we had been up to but then didn’t listen much to what I had to say.  Andy was surprised that she didn’t fall asleep while we were there.

Andy took Zach and Aurora out to walk around.  They had a really fun time visiting the other older ladies there.  We gave gams hugs and tried playing yhatzee for a while.  Grandma helped the girls for a bit with that.  2 nurses came in to draw blood and that didn’t make Grams feel any better.  it just gave her things to complain about.  The babies enjoyed sitting in her new wheelchair.  Grams was using a walker to walk and uses the bathroom on her own still.

She was born in 1930.  She had 6 kids my mon and then a different husband brought 5 boys for my mom to have siblings.  My grandpa died when I was 12- that was 18 years ago.  Grandpa Leonard Jack (Jack )was amazing.  And more so, the more I learn about him.  I’m sure she’s looking forward to seeing him again.

Little Road Trip

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 4:45 pm

Stolen from Kim and LeeJoe’s website. . .just read as is it summs up most of my trip. except the visit to Grams place.  that will come eventually.  I have to go take care of Aurora She burned her hand on the stove on Saturday.

Devanie came Sunday afternoon. Then Randa came a few hours later. We had Amber’s boyfriend over for dinner with the crew. Then that night was rough. We had Autumn up at like 3 from a coughing fit. Sierra was sleeping in Kylee’s room which must have been 90 degrees from the 4 kids sleeping in that tiny room. So Sierra threw up at 6:30. We took care of her, poor thing. Then at 7 Zach paid us peek in visit and then went to play somewhere else. I took Autumn to the Doctor. The kids went to the park, we saw Marley and Me. A bunch of us cried in the end. But Devanie doesn’t know much about the movie because she took the little ones to the car to settle down and watch a DVD. We went to dinner at Golden Corral. We came home finally and the kids played. Randa left back to Nevada. Lee Joe and Kelsea went to see Amber working at the frozen yogurt place she is working at now. While they were gone they missed a classic sick kid moment. Little Zach ran up the stairs to tell us he was going to Throw up. And he did a little. Then he did a bunch and some more and more. I think that little guy had a gallon in him. It was a 4 towel job. Devanie and I did our best not to repeat what he just did trying to clean the floor and him up. Then he felt better. We gave him a bowl. The next day before bed he wanted another bowl. He didn’t throw up but he stood in it then crouched down and said it was his egg and he was a birdie and the bowl went everywhere with him. He slept with it too. I think that blue bowl gave him comfort like a blanket. I felt bad because she was able to stay 2 more days but we all had to go to school. Lee Joe had to go back to work. But Autumn stayed home those 2 days. Devanie helped me out so much by being there and the kids got some time with at least one cousin during the day. I would have let Hannah stay but she has missed several days already and she is the only one who hasn’t gotten this particular crud yet. Hopefully she doesn’t but is she does there are more missed days to come. I REALLY REALLY hope Devanie and her kids didn’t bring it home with them. Thanks for coming Dev!! Sorry it wasn’t something more exciting.

Valentines 2009

Filed under: Valentines — Devanie @ 9:18 pm

Two days before Valentines Day, I got a dozen red roses from Nathan. The day before Valentines Day, I received gourmet chocolate-dipped strawberries (milk chocolate, white chocolate, and even coconut). The strawberries came in a refridgerated box and were still cold when they arrived. The girls and I shared them. There were huge and delicious!

On Valentines Day, Nathan surprised me again with 11-carat diamond and green amerthyst earrings. I told him to stop buying me jewelry, but old habits die hard.  The earrings are stunning.

The kids each got huge Valentines Day themed suckers (like the kind you get at Disneyland but heart-shaped and all pink, red, and white).  They each got a handmade heart card.  We spent the next three days picking up half-eaten sucker pieces out of the carpet and off tables, dressers, and the floor.  I think they enjoyed them… it was just too much to eat all of it.

The kids also received Valentines gifts from Aunt Shana; Valentines-themed iPod devices made out of boxes of candy hearts and Hershy Kisses for earphones.  Very cute!  Why can’t I ever think of things like that?

I gave Nathan a hand-made Valentines card and a mountain of chocolate candy bars. He hasn’t touched them yet (he’s being so good!) but they’re in the closet when and if he needs them.

I made heart-shaped brownies dusted in powdered sugar. Nathan finished them off while the kids and I were in Idaho last week.

For Valentines Day!

Age 7 Accomplished Artist

Filed under: Kids, Personalities, Pictures, Sierra, Something Great — Devanie @ 10:55 pm

About a month ago I finally caved and let the girls have the watercolor paints again.

Mess after mess, I’d go to their room and see  one mess after another, clean it up and let them resume their mess making.

Until one day I walked in and STOPPED dead in my tracks!

I saw a picture that was so amazing to me I just stood there and complimented Sierra UP and down for her work.

She had to keep unrolling the roll of paper to make her picture contine and it seemed to be done seemlessly and it’s as tall as she is!!

Today Daddy had it printed on Canvas – made to look like a real painting and framed by; Foto N Frame Depot http://www.foto-n-frame.com

in conjunction with The Gallerie in Sandy, UT. Http://www.theGallerie.com

We think it turned out supurb and that at the age of 7 having a print of art is quite an achievement. Great Job Sierra!

We can make additional prints if anyone choses to have one.  I’m not sure the price yet.

Planning a little trip

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 1:47 am

It’s WINTER. DEEP DEEP COLD 8″ of SNOW. . .WINTER

Hailey and Sierra are “Off Track” out of school for 3 weeks.

My grandma their Great Grandma in Idaho isn’t doing very well.  I have to go see her!  She cannot stand up on her own anymore.  I just love her.  She’s got an edge about her that I think wore of on many of her MANY kids, grand-kids and great-grand kids.

1st we are going to head out and visit Kimberly(Kim) and LeeJoe, my neice Amber that just turned 18, and spend part of their 4 day weekend with them. Then on Wednesday I will head over to Grandma’s and visit my cousins out there and my wonderful Aunt Gwen and Uncle Kim.

It’s probably gonna be snowy and messy, but i have some great new tires on the car and I need to get the kids out of the house for a bit, they need something different and Nathan could use the peace and quiet for work.  I’ve missed him 2 weeks in a row, I’ll take a week away and then he will leave again for 2 weeks, it’s pretty hectic.

Puddly

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 4:33 pm

Sierra named one of her littlest Pet Shp pets “Puddly”  it doesn’t have much to do with anything, EXCEPT how Zach Aurora and I FEEL today.

In tha past 24 hours Aurora has puked 2 times Zach 1 me- almost 1.  We’ve been through tissues GALORE and taken a fair amount of cold medicine for fevers, coughs and congestion.

So really all I need to say is today we are feeling puddly.  and could all benefit from a weekend of sleep.

On a MUCH better note

A Dozen Roses were delivered by Pro Flowers to me yesterday.  It came at a great time beacuse I had just had a callus dug out of my foot and frozen  YEEEEEE-OUCH! So walking has been difficult.

They again are from my WONDERFUL Husband Nathan. and though he is out of town I know he still loves me even though I have a lot of bad news to tell him.  I love the Roses.  They are Valentines color for the month of February.

I love my honey!

Pottay’s, Sick Days and Letter A’s

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 10:57 pm

Pottay’s

I have decided that I am waiting ’til Aurora turns 2 to potty train her and Zach together.

Right at 2 Sierra was ready so I’m figuring it will be the same with Aurora.  Last night however, as I was getting them in the bath Zach said, “I’m pooping Mommy” and wanted to go sit on “his toilet” it is a Blues Clues potty chair seat.  We tried, no “PEE” came out, nor Poo, but HE TREID and on his OWN!!!! So today I tried Pull Ups and he peed all over in his “Diego” diaper so I told him he cannot wear them if he’s going to pee on Diego – from Nick Jr.s “Go Diego Go” TV show.

Sick days

Aurora threw up Nathan’s last night here.  Thanks goodness he was hear to clean it up cuz my GAG reflex kicked in.  Since then she has been Fevery with a runny nose and WILL not take her naps, she cries and cries and clings to me ALL DAY LONG, which can be great and all I did sit down and watch most of Tinkerbell with her today and then we had a popcorn party and watched Planet Earth with the penguins.  She has been a bit too clingy for my liking when I have kids to pick up from school, dinner to make, homework to help with MP3 Players to upload music too.

Little Zach has been running around for 3 days with a runny nose and screams every few minutes “I have BOOGERS I HAVE BOOGERS!” and insists I use a baby wipe to wipe them.  Plus they don’t eat their food lately and Zach runs around saying “I want a sippy cup!!! I want a Sippy Cup!!!” ALL DAY LONG.

Letter A’s

So while I sat Working on my computer for the 3 businesses I’m trying to run they ate the lunch – a little – then joined me at the counter island and I let them color.

I do not do this very often because I fear a run-away crayon coloring all over the house when I’m not looking.  So today Zach drew his 1st letter “A” And I took a picture of him all proud of his accomplishment.  He also made many circles and we turned them into bubbles with a little apostrophy mark on the inside.

Life in the fast lane.

Besides a pile of dishes, a bed covered in laundry, kids doing chores and schoolwork – I just got both babies to bed and as I was getting th 5th load of laundry out of the dryer I realized WE MISSED DANCE CLASS TODAY because I was doing my new CALLING I made invitations for the 10 girls in my Activity Days group and we had to drive around and deliver them, then I made dinner and got the kids doing their school work, and so forth.  I totally spaced Tuesday Irish Dance.  Which would have been a REALLY good thing for me to take the girls out to do. It’s easier to watch fussy sick kids strapped in car seats watching movies than having them cling to me and cry all day long.

So what a day! I didn’t even post about yesterdays shopping trip with 5 kids trying to have Hailey spend her Christmas money – finally and all the trouble that came with that and having sick kids.

Did I mention We just had the house really clean and it’s back to a tornado zone – and one of the the random things about me is i like things clean! (At least Hidden) and it urks me that it’s such a MESS!

I don’t think I have had ANYTHING to drink today and it’s 7:08 PM.  Tthat’s NOT good for a person that gets Kidney stones!!!

I’m overworking myself and beginning to loose it!!!!

I did catch some moments on camera in the mist of it all and one 3 fore sure that i will cherish forever.
