Irish Dancers

Filed under: Hailey, Irish Dance, Kids, Sierra — Devanie @ 11:38 pm

Well, somehow I managed to keep the girls in Irish Dance.  They have mentioned for about a month that they want to quit.  But I was persistent and the last class they went to they actually REALLY enjoyed because they had an Irish game after it.  Then, Saturday came and they got to go to a Mock Competition – a Mock Feis(Fesh)  I got to get them all dresses up in their $300+ costumes (inc. wigs, shoes, dresses, headbands, socks) YEAH!!! we got to use them again!

Aren’t they Darling???

Sierra didn’t want to wear her wig, so she woke me up at 6:30 AM so I could curl her hair.  it took 1 hour exactly and we only got slightly burned about 5-6 times ;) (we had to be at the Feis at 8:15 am and with 4 little ones, fancy costumes, no husbands around that was quite the Olympic Event!!!

They did 4 dances and we hadn’t really eaten breakfast so all I hear when I went backstatge was – I danced really bad becasue I was SOOO HUNGRY!(Sierra)  So I ran to the car and grabbed a fiber one cereal bar and split it in 1/2 for the girls, still not good enough especially since there were mounds of food sitting on tables for the LUNCH BBQ they were going to have3 1/2 hours after the dancers were to arrive.

It started to gap between their performances and since it was a MOCK Feis I decided to pull them out – not to mention Aurora in her squeaky shoes Darting across the stage where the dancers were performing for the judges, and I had to CHASE after her!!!  How embarrassing! (it’s been a long time since I have been so embarrased I can’t even remember the last (that’s just my retarded memory ~ I can’t remember much of anything).

We will know next week what the judges have to say to help my little dancers, they should have some positive critique on it.  I do have videos but never can get them to download-upload or whatever off my camera – Nathan is the genius on that and I’m without him for 2 WEEKS!

Dairy Farm Sierra 2nd Grade, Flat Stanley, Zach & Aurora

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 6:06 pm

Today we made a few trips.  One was to the Gym for a workout for mom – That didn’t work, 10 min on the elliptical and Zach cried the whole time so the daycare ladies brought him out to me, so I headed out with the kids, we went to the Car Wash, got all cleaned up and vacuumed, then to Bed Bath & Beyond for a new cordless push sweeper – the other 2 died So we are going to try a Shark.

We took Flat Stanely with us and took pictures.

How Flat Stanley got Flat

We took him to the Dairy Farm where the second graders take a field trip and Sierra got to go this year.  So I decided to stop over and visit the troops.  A few Elementary schools go and it gets full it took a while for us to find Sierras class, so we kept ourselves busy with Flat Stanley for my niece Celest.  We had the sheep  shearers take a picture with him, took him to the Donkey’s cow, alpaca, goats, turkeys and tractors.  we sure had a great time.  Aurora loved the cows.  She kept going back do push the food toward them, and the baby calf that sucked on her fingers made her shake her hands in disgust, but she kept going back for more ;) ADORABLE!

Zach couldn’t get enough of running up and down the hill with grassy weeds with purple flowers on them. he pretended to be an Ester egg hiding in the grass and Aurora soon followed – too cute!

We really took it easy and had a great tome, Aurora slipped and fell 3 times, and Zach biffed it hard once, but his his long sleeves and 2 layer pants saved us a lot of heartache.  So many smiles.   We got to see Sierras group, followed them around and took pics with her even at places we had already been to.  She was happy I was able to make it.

Still have 1/2 a day to go.  I’m going to try the girls with Irish Dance again since our payments don’t stop till next month.  I hope we can work things out and get them convinced to stay.

One rainy Day this spring

Aurora’s gotta go tend the Cattle.

Easter 2009

Thursday we made a YUMMY YUMMY egg shaped cake with yellow/orange jelly filling.  Sierra helped to decorate it.

Friday afternoon we dyed eggs and put candy in over 100 eggs for the hunts we were to go on over the weekend.

Friday we went to The Pie Pizza place – one of my Favorites!  We went with Uncle, Aaron Aunt Alice and Ethan.  We took the cake with us and shared it with their family after playing outside with their dog Max for a long time.

Saturday we were up bright and early, packed up the chicks and went to Uncle Mikes for their Egg Hunt.  It was a blast, the kids all go so much stuff!  Then Daddy went to work with Grandpa and I took the kids and thier chicks to play at their cousins house.  They watched Madagascar 2, and we went out to McDonalds to play and eat.  Then we went back to help boil and dye Easter eggs.  we got the boiling part done when Daddy was ready to go home. So we packed up and headed out to pick him up.

Sunday Morning the Easter bunny had come, leaving, bath roll on paints, candy, and an egg hunt that was little in the living room. and the Easter Bunny left a poopy raisin trail from the living room out the front door and to the lawn.

We managed to have Creamed Eggs for breakfast and still got all cutsie and ready to go to Church.  It was REALLY nap time for Aurora and Zach so Daddy had to take them home for naps.

Sunday Evening was Dinner at Uncle Joe’s with a Ton of family and even some of their friends.  Good thing I made Deviled Eggs and them More while I was there, We all brought it pot luck style and there was just enough food for them all.  he kids had the BIG egg hunt where they scoured play sets, gardens, picnic tables, a pond and more to get their basket full of goodies.  Hailey was in her dress coming down the rock climbing wall on the back of the play set, her shoe snagged her dress and she FELL spilling her basket and falling to the ground.  She was OK.  Aurora danced and danced for everyone – such a cutie and when she dances she really shakes her tush.

went home went to bed. the end.

Baby Chicks

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 8:26 pm

The 2nd grade classes out here in our Farming Community allow the children to incubate a dozen chick eggs.  We told the class we would take up to 6 of them for Uncle Joe and Aunt Suzie’s Chicken coop.  11 of the 12 chicks made it and we got 2 of them.  We have had them at the house longer than I wanted, but, the kids have more than adored them!

I let them take them out to the back yard for a while and we learned that the chicks love to chase them.  but they want to do it in a PACK and if the other one doesn’t chase or follow, then they stop running.

“Max” and “MaCoy” have learned “parrot” andwill stand on the girls arms like perches.  They have learned many other Tricks too.  Hailey and Sierra love making mini houses for them in the blocks, other boxes and even Tinker Toys.

Surprisingly both chicks are still alive and growing their real wings.  One has short wings one has long.  I don’t know why.  Maybe one is retarded =)  All we know is that they sure love each other.  They peep REALLY loud when the other is away for a second.

Yesterday while I took Zach and Aurora to McDonald’s for a break, one jumped out of the box.  Nathan was on a business call andhad to chase the chick around the house while his friend was frantically PEEPING and Nathan was trying to listen to his important call.

We put the lid over the box so that doesn’t happen again.

It’s been quite an adventure.

Up to. . .

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 1:08 am

We have been up to. . . Being Mommy’s of 2 baby chicks this week.

We have also taken on the role of Flat Stanley’s traveling Auntie and family.

I grabbed a sitter and headed to Aunt Kathy’s wedding reception. – Flat Stanley came too ;)

The Missionaries came to visit Hailey and the family since Hailey and Sierra are being baptized May 2nd at 11:00.

I’m planning on finally getting my temple recommend renewed.

This past month I have listed over 200 items on eBay and shipped out almost as many therefore, paying off the debt to get the things I was selling =)

I got to go on an awesome Girls night out with 5 sister’s in law.  We saw Bride Wars and went out to TGI Fridays for Dinner – I even grabbed dessert.

I have been working out 4 days a week with busy kids that want to be on my back or complain saying they want to go home.

Spring break is a day and 1/2 away it’s a 2 1/2 day spring break for my year round kids. We do not have plans.

Hailey is getting great grades, Sierra is awesome too.  Zach is learning, Colors, Numbers, ABC’s, counting, praying, gratitude.  Aurora is all over the place and learning a bunch every day.  she talks, and repeats, and says Thank you when you open the door for her or give her some thing.  Tradition in the car I say :I love you”  all the time to the kids.  I get to hear 4 echos back but the sentence gets smaller along with the kids Zach says “U too”. Aurora Says “Too”.

A few weeks ago I blogged that i needed the house to burn down cus it’s got so much in it and is too overwhelming and daunting to organize, clean and keep up with on my own 24/7

Well Daddy Tornado blasted thru and we got rid of 5 trash bags of toys/clothes/trash papers/cards/ games/puzzles the kids hadn’t picked up.  Then we had a wonderful FHE taught by Nathan about how when we work together we get a LOT more accomplished (assembly line style) than when 1 person trys to do each of those jobs.  I think it sunk in for Hailey – a bit I just hope she wakes up a bit and focuses a bit more and can start recognising the need to do her work and help other people – maybe I see the difference of having the Holy Ghost with you (and not) She needs to get baptized and confirmed SOON to see if attitudes change with the prompting spirit to guide her.  Since My voice isn’t good enough.

So I spent the evening crying, laughing, crying, moody, hot, cold – My body is trying to get used to the tubal ligation, and I think since I craved chocolate yesterday, that maybe it’s supposed to be that time, but i don’t know cuz I don’t bleed anymore.  hummm.m.m. Sorry, Thomas, but it’s a little history in my journal ;)

Guess I’m supposed to be planning and prepping for a huge Easter party and dinner on Sunday.  I’m exhausted I just want to pass this one off, but the other option works 40 hrs within a 3 day period right before, so I guess I’m really gonna have to pull in on the family reinforcements for help!

I’m very very tired right now.

Daddy comes HOME today!!!!

Its been a week and a half.  i had hoped the time would fly by, but that just didn’t happen, it seems like the longest trip he has ever taken(it’s not) and Mommy needs the security of having Daddy around and The peace that he brings to the family.  The sick cruddies got all of us.  Aurora and I Spent and evening puking on the floor together It was awful, Hailey stayed home from school 2 days in a row.  Fevers, nausea, sore throats, runny noses, the runs, and so much more were filtering thru our systems and each other.  We area ll on the mend just in time for daddy to get home.  I’ll be sanitizing EVERYTHING and hoping he, Shana ans Melanie(visiting from CT) all miss the mess of it.

I’m almost counting down the minutes before he gets here.  I’ve sooo missed my Husband, the family has not thrived without him.   Nathan we all need you in our lives.  come home safely!

Glad you got to visit with family and go to Noahs Baptizm while you were out there.  Must be nice seeing them all so often.  We sure miss our family in CT.
