Sheer Busyness

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 12:41 am

I think I’m just gonna make a LIST of the past 2 weeks with the kids.  Hope it isn’t too overwhelimg and doesn’t take too long to write. . .

Week before Hailey and Sierra Started back to school – you know year round school where they have to pedal their bikes in 100* weather 25-30 minutes to and from school.

I made sure they had a lot of fun.  I got Sierra Zach and Hailey a special Candy Factory tour since I had told Hailey I wanted her to get a chance as a birthday present form me.  We made it to the tour in the nik of time (after and emergency pee in the car from Zach, a missed freeway exit and calls messy Popsicle faces-and shirts).

We all got to go to a family picnic where the kids got to play at the sprinkler park for hours and then picnicked and played with water-balloon launchers.  Had an awesome game of Duck Duck Goose with Grandpa, uncle Dan, Aunt Melanie, all the kids everyone but Grandma who recorded a good part of it.  SOOO FUN.

I took all 4 kids daringly and bravely to a rec center to swim.  They had a blast.  I found that Aurora is fearless in the water and loved the water slide for kids.  Zach wouldn’t go down it.  Aurora walked off an edge of the pool into the lazy river.  I was right behind her and scooped her up, but MAN IS SHE CRAZY!  she gave Aunt Suzie a heart attack(almost)

Took all the kids to a haircutting place with Grandma S for the 1st time.  they had a pretty good time. Then we went out for ice cream.

I took all the kids shopping for school clothes we got a ton at ROSS for a lot less than i though it would be, but WAYYY more than we could really afford.  Had Hailey and sierra try on almost every single shirt and pants in sets and all for the perfect back to school look.  Hailey has been dressing a little weird it’s time to freshen up her look.

Visited Grandma and Grandpa S house and played with Rigby, their dog.  Let the babies roll down the hills with Aunt Mels 3 kids. for 1/2 hr or so.

Took the kids to local theme park ALONE about 3-4 times to the water park and on load of rides.  Sierra Rode the big white roller coaster with me while Hailey took Zach and Aurora on the carousel.  Sierra liked it so much she went on it with Daddy this morning too.

Did 3 haircuts for friends kids here at my house. 2 emergency next day is school cuts at 9:30 10:PM and the other was a 1st haircut and he screamed and wiggled thru the whole thing.

Cared for Activity days girls. Went gardening at Bishops, planted beans with the 6-7 girls.  went on the miniature railroad withthem.  Came home made Zucchini Bread and boiled beets.  Hailey liked the beets Sierra didn’t, they both liked the Zucchini bread.

Pid to have the girls get their toenails done “GLITTER TOES” Style Hailey chose black Sierra chose bright green.  they look really neat though and now I’m jealous I was cooking dinner and finishing up the Zucchini bread while they went I want mine done too.

Had a family Dinner with Melanie and Arron’s families at our place.

Aunt Melanie stayed the night a few nights with her kids after Uncle Jorge went home so we played, watched TV, went to Wheelers Farm for tractor rides and animal fun with the kids. Went to a fun Md Ds treehouse playplace, went jewelry shopping.

Sent Hailey to 5th Grade

Sent Sierra to 3rd Grade

Took kids to and from irish dance and inbetween played on slides on outdoor Mc Ds playplace with Zach and Aurora. Also went to back to school night to meet Hailey and Sierra’s  New Teachers and get a feel for the school year for them.

Set up a tour at the candy factory where 17 of us went. Aunt Suzie and her 4, Aunt Mel and her , My friend Dalene and her 4, me and my youngest 2.  I think they enjoyed it, mostly eating the candy afterwords.

I have been getting to the church gym to work out as often as possible which was 2 days this week since I have company for 2 and 1 was PIONEER DAY. where we actually just stayed home, played Mexican Domino train, and swung on the swings.  we hit Lagoon today to see the Pioneer Village and teach them about pioneers and see old stuff, trains, telephones, houses, furniture, wagons, stoves, hardware, musical instruments and boxes, and a general store.

Got the girls going to Irish dance in Saturdays for PERFORMANCE GROUP.  they have to learn all new dances and can be in more spotlight performances to help advertise the School of Dance – Hailey was not fond.  Sierra got right in and learned those moves!

Hailey FINALLY rode the kiddie roller coaster today!  and almost rode the new Jumping Dragon spinning wave coaster.

We took then to Arctic Circle to play. and have ice cream.

We are planning a family BBQ at Uncle Joe’s te see Aunt Mel again before she leaves us.  Hopefully i will get more time with her on Monday.

Went to tour a college and take a placement exam.  Nathan is encouraging me to go back to school. Going back to college? Well it’s good to know I passed a placement test where you get 12 min to take a 50 question test. You have to get 17 to pass. I answered about 30 questions and got 22 right and the Recruiter/Admin guy was super impressed. I was his highest score! probably ever ;) too funny!!!  thinking about a 10 Mont PERSONAL TRINING Diploma Degree that I may be able to extend and do in 2 years.

Also running many businesses

Selling Cookie Lee jewelry, Squeaky shoes, baptizm dresses, blessing dresses, Melissa & Doug wooden puzzles and toys, Dressy sandals, Baby shower Diaper cakes, and. . . .dresses my friend makes and flower girl dresses and. . .

that’s probably enough.

I did take a TON of pics I may be able to get up within the week seems it will be a little calmer before MY side of the family comes over for our own little RUNION get together.

English Scones

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 3:39 pm

I went to a Tea Party for  a baby shower.  these were delicious with Devonshire Cream (like clotted cream)and homemade strawberry jam!

English Scones presented by Williamsburg Manor Bed & Breakfast Email this page to a Friend

2 cups flour
½ tsp. salt
6 Tbsp. butter
½ cup sour cream
4 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
½ tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly butter a baking sheet. Sift flour into a bowl with sugar, salt and baking powder. Add the butter and work with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine the eggs, cream and vanilla in a bowl. Add to the flour mixture and stir until moistened. Flour your hands well. Working quickly, lightly pat the dough into an 8-inch round. With a sharp knife, score the round into 8 wedges. (Dough can also be rolled and cut into biscuit shapes.) Place on the baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until top is browned and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove scones to a wire rack and cool for a few minutes. Cut along the score marks and serve warm with butter, preserves or clotted cream. Makes 8 scones.

Day Camp!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Devanie @ 10:59 pm

This was my 1st time getting to go to Day Camp with Hailey and Sierra and their 1st time going.

They rowed boats Hailey cried becasue she got spashed with water a LOT.  Then we went to the trading post got hot cocoa, candy, and foam darts.  Then it was over to the Obstacle coarse where they tight rope walked, ran thru tires etc. They learned to use sling shots for the wrist. Shoot BB Guns, Hailey was quite good at that. Then we had a short lunch break, sang some songs, went to the Archery Range where we each got to 4 shoot aarows.  Hailey got 2-3 in i got all 4 of mine in 2 were bulls eyes.  The kids all made leather Stamped necklaces and we did our nature Walk.  it was from 8AM to 2:30 PM.  It was really nice for the girls to be able to get out and do that sort of thing since we don’t camp.

Gotta run it’s been a day.  past bedtime and kids are rambuncious

Independance Day 2009

We had quite a fun 4th of July.

Friday night my nieces Amber and Kelseatheir friend Andrea and Amber’s boyfriend,  Matthew came over in the evening.  The girls stayed the night.  I made them strawberry smoothies for “Breakfast in Bed” as I headed out the door with our family of 6 in tow.

Hailey and Sierra had to be ready by 8:30 to Irish Dance in the Parade we had to be there at 9.  The parade actually started at 11:00  My nieces   friends were able to come and watch.  Tons of candy was thrown, necklaces, toys, fliers etc.  we grabbed “Otter Pops” popsiclesfrom street vendor kids with their wagons and coolers.

Then we went out to Burger King for lunch home to rest and freshen up for the evening party at Uncle Aaron and Aunt Alice’s house.

Which was a Blast both with Water balloons and Fireworks!  We had  a really FUN night.

The Waterballoon cannon-sling shots were a blast towatch and evenmore fun to shoot!

My nieces brought a Mortar with them from Idaho.  I had NO idea what it would do when it was lit OH MY GOODNESS!! big fireworks.  Aunt Kathy’s reaction was the best.  She backed up in the driveway clasping her hands and said, “That is SOOOO Illegal” in SHOCK. Nathan about had a heart attack laughing at her reaction, then again when he imagined the worst when a spark hit the roof of a house, and even though Nathan had a pounding headache in the car he still laughed again and again and again.  It was totally worth it!!!
