A day at the Zoo.
WE BOUGHT A ZOO MEMBERSHIP!
I took all 4 kids to the Zoo and they had a great time! we strolled around lazily. Saw the new babies at the Zoo. there were 2 baby tiger cubs, a baby giraffe, a baby elephant, and a baby snow leopard(which we will have to see another time).
We played on the playground rode the train and the carousel. Had Ice cream after Lunch for .90 Cents a cone Perks of being a member. We also grabbed another later in the day around 4:30 on our way out. The Girls are so into Harry Potter and the books and movies that when I let Zach have a stick to play with they had to get Magic Wands too! they had fun turning me into a frog and using magic spells.
The babies wore squeaky shoes and loads of people were interested in them.
They also played on the flat rocks for over an hour after lunch. Aurora and Zach especially loved the climbing part all over all the low flat rocks.
The Chipmunks were bouncy, we saw the monkeys actually swinging on their Monkey Bars!

TOFW 2009 Time Out For Women
So nice to get away and feel the spirit for a while. Especially after missing so much Church due to Sick kids, Surgery, Conferences etc.
Every year my Mother in Law takes the Adult girls out for a little rejuvenation. We hit the Friday evening meeting. Stay the night in a hotel and get to the morning/afternoon meetings. There are great singers and speakers and lots of shopping for the Books they make and CDs and then some. We go out to eat and get to chat for hours in the car.
It’s so nice. I got to invite my SIL Kim there were 2 openings for friends/family to come with Suzie and I we each picked a SIL. Kim drove down from Boise. =)
This years Theme was SWEET ASSURANCE. They encouraged us to write down ONE thing we KNOW for SURE. I just kept thinking “Heavenly Father loves me” and I need to show Nathan more Gratitude! I know that!
I made them all smile for a picture!
Dinner Tic Tac Toe Sandwiches
I went to the freezer outside to look for dinner, found a bag of french fries, thought,. . .what do I have that can go with this? Found Chicken patties, have no buns for chicken parry sandwiches. . .moved inside. . .looked around and thought, what can I make that everyone will eat? grilled cheese? sandwiches? ah yes, they serve fries with sandwiches at restaurants, right? So I heated the oil in our new TFal at home fryer that Nathan got for working with GE for 10 years. it was that or jewelry
I flipped thru the kids cookbook I just got for Hailey at the Scholastic book fair. . .didn’t have the ingredients for a lot of the items. . .found a cute sandwich recipe wheat and white bread with ham and cheese in it cut into 9ths and split up, then topped with olives cut to make Xs and os. . .novel i thought, i have the stuff to make that.
So I did and this is what we came up with. Sierra and Hailey helped add the Xs and Os, Nathan made the fries.
& This is Zach’s face over it, and every meal I make for him.
This is the kids before we say prayer and eat dinner. Aurora’s diggin in, kids are playing Tic Tac Toe and lovin it!
Grandma Stout once said she wished she had more pictures of all her kids around the table at dinner time. So here is at least one from our family for me to look back on =) Young tots! Love them.
Today
This morning was pretty laid back. I didn’t make any huge plans to get out of the house. I watched a little Rachael Ray on TV Zach was up at 5:30 AM since he went to bed so early yesterday night (he’s had a cold) last night Nathan took us to Golden Corral for dinner and he fell asleep on the way there, ate a bit, looked sleepy, got off his chair and said he was ready to go home. That’s unusual for him we got in the car and he fell asleep on the wy home, Nathan put him straight to bed at 7:20 thus he woke up 1 hr earlier since he went to bed 1 hr later.
So he fell asleep this morning from 9-11:30 Aurora napped from 10:30 to 2:00. Hailey and Sierra Played Animal Crossing on the Nintendo, read harry potter books, and played NeoPets on the computer.
When everyone was up we played “Train Station” Nathan taught them how to play a game with the train tracks, it worked for all the kids but didn’t seem to make sense to me. There was one person in charge. 3 people had stations that revolved around a circle track and had 1 outlet for them to add their own tracks to. If a player has room on a track for an engine to park then they invite the engine to stay, then the leader moves another engine to the tracks and to the next person. But it was up to the station master to move the train out of your station and when it moved you could get a piece of track. If a long train came to the station you had to have room for it or it had to move to the next. When that train moved you’d get 1 track piece for the engine – and 1 for 2 freight cars. Sierra just kept coming to my station, hardly to Zach and Hailey’s and I didn’t think it was very fair, but they seemed to have fun even though I was the only one with real tack.
Some other parts to the game were ~ there were only 4 choices of track in the circle to choose from. Station master picked them ~ Station Master sent and “Inspector” train around to make sure tracks were straight, clean and well set. If you didn’t pass inspection you lost 2 track pieces ~ Once in a while a special item would come up for offering, the first to raise their hand got it. . .anyone else was left to cry causing fighting.
So one person got special treatment, the others fought over special items, I’m sure it’s not always that way.
SOO I Started a different kind of game.
Starting with a circle full of objects like trees, farm animals, construction posts etc. You go around in a circle person to person their choices for building their station are
~Pick a Train Piece
~Add a piece of Track
~Pull out a train and go shopping for a decoration for the area they are in
~~Then once the track is built, which you have to try to connect everyone’s tracks, then it’s free-play time.
Here is our creation.

Dads FULLY LOADED truck
2 weeks ago my Dad drove thru here on his way to Missouri He visited me in the hospital and let me know he loved me. Nathan helped him repack some of his stuff in the car. the front end was doing a wheelie! So goofy looking. he did go out and get a tarp to cover the pile. and ended up losing his Dolly along the trip. They unloaded about 4 boxes of food storage for me to bring out with me on my trip out there. to lighten his load a little.
The condemned house may have a salvagable foundation? hummmm.
They still have their trailer/camper
and they are going to be living in aMobile home 45 miles north or their original destination.
Parent Teacher Conf. Report
Hailey is missing 1 of 2 book reports. Has some pretty good grades and butchered the State capitols test (which makes me upset because since she was 3 we have been giving underdogs on the swings for giving the right answer to the state capitol. I didn’t see how bad it was but her grade is based on 1-2-3 and she got a 2 and this morning she told me she even re-took the test. Guess that’s what we get when she doesn’t tell us what she needs to be working on in school. . .We could have mastered that if she would have sat and studied with us. We ask her everyday EVERYDAY what she needs to be doing for homework and it’s always the same – reading. Which she also gets in trouble for at school ,she reads because she is addicted and cannot help but sneak it into her desk and read while the teacher is teaching. But she has read Harry potter 1-6 since July 20 when they started school again. and her reading vocab and comprehension are all 3’s
Sierra’s teacher loves he her bouncy personality and she says she is a good student! She’s friendly, very helpful, reads well, needs to work on reading more at home, She’s mastered timed math facts in addition, subtraction and multiplication 0,1,2 so we are working on those. She’s cruising along there. She’s reading the 1st Harry Potter book, which is farther ahead than all but 1 kid in her class. he’s on book 2. She loves the PONY PALS book series and writes cute books about dogs and horses. The teacher gave her a lot of 3s couple 2.75s.
Schools out Friday. They get about 5 weeks off. we plan to got to the B&B Circus, travel to Missouri on the 25th pending approval from my doctor, and back.
Friday I go to Time out for Women with a bunch of Ladies in the family! =)
Aurora has an ear infection (we see the doc today) I get my 2 week post op today too.
The yellow roses are STILL ALIVE!

Denise & Mike & Update
If you get this message. we aren’t trying to miss you. but we do miss you! hope to get together sometime soon!
I’m feeling better, it’s day 9 post surgery still need the heavy medication but I’m up more often. nathan has been a trooper and all of my friends have taken turns babysitting for part of the day most days. What a blessing to have such great friends!
Day 10 of our friendship bread starter came and Nathan was able to make it when it would have been a struggle for me. I can be up for about 1/2 hr but then I feel my energy is sapped and gone i get hot flashy and have to rest for a bit. So Nathan has had to take over many responsibilities. I cannot lift the kids. but I am managing that OK right now. Aurora is old enough she can climb up to her car seat. Aurora gets up on the sofa for a diaper change. Bathing them is a little harder in my tall tub but in the short bathtub they can step out themselves.
I’m still tender.
I have a date to sell jewelry at the state fair tonight and my friend will take good care of me. I may not get many sales cuz I won’t be up jumping around for business, but we both have very different jewelry. I’m selling from the newest catalog and hers are last and older pieces. So it will be a wide spread variety for customers.
I’ve been looking at roses the whole time I have been in bed. Nathan got me 3 red ones when I got home and my monthly delivery of yellow ones came about the same time the red ones decided to wilt. They make me smile!

Hystarectomy
I am 31, my mom was 32 with a prolapsed uterus.
I go in in the morning for Surgery. Family History says a possibility of Cervical Cancer Grandma Leavitt had it.
I had my tubes tied last March and an oblation- they lazer cotterize the uterus to stop menstral bleeding. It didn’t work for me. I never really let it heal before I started working out hard to lose weight. I over worked it. I lost 6-8 pounds since, but I have been bleeding almost non-stop since and we have waited and waited fir it to stop with no end.
My uterus is prolapsed which would make being pregnant and carrying a baby VERY hard – as if it wasn’t already torture – pregnancy wan NOT easy at all for my body and I’m guessing with Aurora, besides pulling my lgiments with Zach in my belly during a fall at 8 months along, and stretching out those ligiments that hold my pregnant belly up, carrying Aurora made me feel like I was going to die for sure, I was in so much pain one night where I prayed so hard for my life. Besides that carrying her and all of my babies was quite difficult – too many complications with all of them! But we are so grateful we have 4 heathy children and that they are all OURS! Although somedays we could really use a vacation or a PARENTAL TUTOR! To many pre-term labors, too many puke days, much to much for me to ever go thru again.
I did find that after a tubal ligation and keeping ovarys that i can still harvest my eggs if anyone want to buy a red-haired girl
they would just have to go thru the pregnancies and BEG Nathan for his genes
which will never happen =)
Thankfully Nathan is taking time off to be with the kids and my Dad will be traveling thru SLC to Missouri and will be able to visit me in the hospital during
my overnight stay.
